How does the urban built environment play a role in art scenes, milieux, communities, etc.?
How are place and space rendered significant in the everyday lives of artists?
What kinds of cultural imaginaries and myths are imbued within urban contexts of art?
How does city branding, the entrepreneurial creative city or urban art festivals (e.g. biennials, music festivals) shape individual and interconnected art worlds, as well as artistic
practices?
We welcome theoretical and empirical papers showing the significance of when, where and how the urban shapes art.
